FAQs About the Orchard
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I come to the Farm and just walk around?
No. This farm is our home as well as livelihood. We love having you come and visit, but you do need a wristband for entry to enter, stay and enjoy the farm.
If you would like to just pick your own apples, a wristband is still required to enter the farm. This allows you to pick apples and enjoy the entire property too.
Do I have to pay just to look in the barn?
No, there is no admission fee to enjoy the barn and all the goodies, treats, apples, cider and concessions. An admission fee is required for all once you leave the barn.
Can I come and just walk around the orchard?
We are not a public park. Our family has worked hard at planting, tending to and creating this wonderful property which has become part of our livelihood. We have had many issues with people coming through and just eating apples off the trees with no plan to purchase. Also, damaging property or treating our family farm improperly. Admission is required for everyone past the barn. Even if you are just apple picking. We thank you for your understanding and respecting our family and farm.
Are pets allowed on the property?
No. Working dogs are only allowed in the barn.
Per codes and regulations of farm animals and produce, service/working dogs must remain in barn and not beyond.
Comfort, therapy, and emotional support animals do not meet the definition of service animal and are NOT permitted. If you are not sure, please refer to www.adata.org.
Additionally, Service dogs are allowed in the barn and picnic area but no further because of the Health and Food laws of agricultural land. (Wis. Admin. Code ATCP & 6-501.115)
Do I bring my own bags for Apples?
No. We have all apple and pear picking bags that will be needed for you to pick and enjoy all of your Orchard fruits!
Can I eat the apples when picking?
Please remember our orchard produce is our family’s paycheck and how we stay in business and pay bills. Please me mindful and respectful. It is not a free for all on tasting.
PLEASE PICK GENTLY. Anything that falls to the ground is not edible so that is lost produce. Please do not yank or pull on the trees.
What the heck is a peck?
One Peck holds about 10-11 pounds of apples.
One Half Peck holds about 5-6 pounds of apples
You can mix and match the apple varieties when you pick in our orchard.
What kind of payment do you accept?
We accept cash, credit cards and Apple Pay.
Do you have concessions?
Yes. On weekends, our concession stand is open with fresh homemade apple cider donuts made on site. We also offer hot dogs, sodas, juice boxes, both cold and hot apple cider, Apple Slushies, Apple Nachos and chip bags.
Do you have bathrooms onsite?
We have Port-a-Potties available and hand washing stations. They are cleaned weekly.
Can I come and go?
Your specific colored wristband lasts all day long during our normal farm hours. Feel free to come early, leave for sports or family things, and come back later that same day to pick, play and enjoy the day.
How did you come up with Honey Creek Orchard?
Our children’s names are Hailee, Charlie and Owen and we love to incorporate the small details in the farm history and this is how we did it. Each letter of their first name is part of our orchard’s name.
