Our Apples

Cortland

Apple Type: Fresh Eating | Pie

The Cortland apple tree produces a McIntosh type apple with sweet vinous flavor, but not all of Mac’s perfumery aromatics. The Cortland apple skin is bright red overlaid with darker red streaks.  Tart and tangy white crisp flesh; Cortland apples are one of the best salad apples because they don’t brown quickly. The Cortland apples hang on the tree better than McIntosh and are more crisp in hot weather. The Cortland apple tree is well-suited to freezing temperatures. Vigorous, long-lived tree is annually productive and starts bearing early.
